Expectations

If life there are many times we look forward to something that we expect coming up. However with these expectations we face the risk of disappointment. When things take a different turn from what we expect, our emotions take a different turn downhill as well. And the more we look forward to it the bigger the disappointment will be.

It is human nature for us to expect things and so is the feeling of disappointment. We can choose to doubt every little thing and minimize the expectation but that would in turn cause other issues and I would strongly recommend not to do that. We just got to learn to be ready to face the disappointments if they come.

Trying to stop things from taking a turn isn't really an option as well. What we can control is ourselves but our expectations often revolve not on ourselves but on other people and that's what we can never control. We just got to face that fact and live with it.

Disappointment comes with expectations taking a turn

Unpredictable Tomorrow

Things are bound to change, for better or for worse. Items, system, people, they all change in time. It's part of what makes life so unpredictable. Assuming that the variables will remain the same through the course of time could very well be one of the most naive move to take.

We just have to learn to expect and accommodate changes that happens. What's initially in your favour could turn against you. Naturally to accommodate to the changes, we ourselves have to change as well.
In the process of growing up things around us go through a rather rapid change as we step into different sections of life. Changing is not a bad thing, but be aware of what is changing and take control of your own progress.

Even if we go through many drastic changes, we are still the same person and there is bound to be a base personality retaining with us. Some may choose to cover up the base personality with a mask personality but in the end what we really are is still inside. That is unchangeable and should be accepted and if it's a flaw, cover up with other areas that we're good with.

What's ahead is unpredictable, nothing stays perfectly same

Alone

I never really like being alone but it so happens I always end up being alone. The truth is being alone is not so bad at all if I'm meant to be alone but that's not the case.

In a crowd of friend, parties or events with many people I know, I still somehow or rather end up being alone. (with exception to certain groups of people) However that's still not much of a problem to me as it's pretty normal.

What's worse is where I'm usually not alone, I turn out to be alone. The feeling of abandonment, straying off from the group. Losing something that was once there. With no expectation there won't be disappointment but when there is, there's bound to be.

Emotional

It's been many months since I blogged. I've been emotional, went through an emotional roller coaster. Different things affect different people to a different degree. The same thing may appear small to another but it may not be so to them. The scale of importance of things differ among people.

I've been told that I'm being too emotionally weak as a man. However, a man's heart can really just be so fragile. It's not that I much weaker than most other men are, it's that I prefer not to cover up my feelings. If I feel sad, why should I act like I'm well and happy? Is it really wrong to just show how you feel and not cover it up with false pretence?

Well, I know sometimes being sad brings down the mood of people around you. Maybe that's why I've really been wrong, maybe I should really change.

The Setback of Talent

Everyone has their own talent in one way or another. Some may prove more useful than others through the course of life though. There is however one problem that affects many people who has very useful talents. They begin to turn lazy because of having these gifts.

Not all of them are like that but many end up being so. The reason is very simple actually. For the early part of our lives things were easy and people with talent can just breeze through with minimal to zero effort. What happens however is this makes them cocky. It creates a belief that everything is just a walk in the park with their special gift.

Only as things get harder, they realize how wrong they are. Many however have already fall too deep into this illusion that they created themselves with them being special and unwilling to put in so much effort. Life will give you one tight slap in the face to wake you up. You might be pushed way back from your original path but it's never too late to change and walk again. Sure, there are regrets for not understanding the limits of your own talent but to move forward is more important.

So if you have talent, don't be cocky and put in the effort to use it well. Don't slack and waste the talent given.  Don't turn back and regret for thinking talent without effort could bring you anywhere.

Talent may make people lazy

Human

The current society is human orientated. What we tend to focus on is the life revolving around human civilization. We have deviated from the original source of life, the mother earth. We are always distracted from it with everything in our lives revolving around what humans have created.

How often do you step away from the built up civilization and back into Mother Nature? People today bring along their cellphones even when they go camping in the jungle. We have grown so dependent on our connection to the society that we no longer take our time to connect with the nature.

Not noticing isn’t the biggest problem here, the bigger problem is that we notice it but we don’t care. We choose to live according to what the society is pushing us to. We choose to follow where we’ve been pointed to because it has done us no harm. It’s not wrong to do so however, it’s just amusing how we’ve actually come to be so.

Birthday

Birthday is just a date to commemorate the passing of yet another year of your life. At a young age it marks the growth of one into the adulthood but when you reach twenties does it really matter so much anymore? Maybe not, so what is so special about the day? The special thing about it is, it is a day you can call your own.

I believe everyone wants to be acknowledged, wants to be cared and loved by people. Everyone wants to be special and on your own day you would like to feel special as well. This is where birthday celebrations come into play. Where people show that they care about you and you can enjoy being surrounded by them.

Few days before my birthday, my secondary school buddies did a 3 people joined celebration. I would like to say thank you to all of them. They are one of those who have gone through a lot with me and I can’t imagine if even they don’t care.

On my birthday itself, my university course mates came down to SS2 from KL to celebrate my birthday. I may not seem so and I may not have said it but I’m really happy you all did so. You all are real buddies through these few years in our university years. I’m really thankful for you all especially the drivers who didn’t mind driving all the way down.

That night itself my heng dai in Canada messaged me to wish me. Makes me think back how much we’ve been through together. We had our arguments and disagreements but we remain as bros through everythings.

The Saturday after my birthday passed, my girlfriend planned a surprise celebration for me with help from my “little sister”. Even though there were many fail moments of me bumping into people and table arrangement matter all and it became quite obvious but I’m really glad so many people came for me and the effort my girlfriend and “sister” put in. What everyone may not know is I was holding back my tears. They were lodging at my eyes, just that I didn’t let it flow out.

Then to everyone who wished my whether by sms, facebook, whatsapp or face to face, I might not know how to react to it but it gives me positivity and I thank you for that.

Last but not least, my family. My grandmother, aunty and parents who gave me angpow to let me spend and enjoy I really thank you all. I know we may not express it so openly but I know we all love each other. I know I never say it but I’m really glad I have such a great family and I love you all.

Care, something we all need.
